Our process
Every patio starts with excavation to the right depth for the soil on your lot, then a compacted aggregate base laid in lifts and checked for grade so water runs away from the house, not toward it. We set pavers on a screeded bedding layer, cut borders clean, lock the field with edge restraint, and finish with polymeric sand.
We install the full range of styles - traditional brick patterns, large-format slabs, herringbone fields, and natural stone accents - and we'll walk you through samples at the walkthrough so you can see options against your house, not in a catalog.
Built for Illinois winters
Freeze-thaw is what kills patios in the Fox Valley. Poor base prep shows up as dips and heaves within a couple of seasons. Our base depth, compaction in lifts, and drainage grading are designed for exactly this climate, and because pavers are a modular system, if anything ever settles a section can be lifted and reset without tearing out the patio.
We also design drainage into the plan from the start - downspout routing, grade away from the foundation, and permeable options where runoff is a concern.
More than a slab
Most of our patios are part of a bigger outdoor space - seating walls, fire pits, steps, pergolas overhead, and lighting that keeps it usable past sunset. One crew designs and builds all of it, so the finished space fits together instead of looking like three different contractors' work.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a paver patio take to install?
Most residential patios are done in 3 to 5 working days, including excavation, base compaction, laying, cutting, and polymeric sand. Larger spaces with walls or steps run longer, and we give you a schedule up front.
Do paver patios hold up to Illinois winters?
Yes - when the base is built right. We excavate to proper depth, compact aggregate in lifts, and grade for drainage so freeze-thaw cycles don't heave the surface. Individual pavers can also be lifted and reset if anything ever settles.
How much does a paver patio cost?
We give a firm, itemized number after a free walkthrough - every project is different, and we'd rather measure than guess.
